Jam-Filled Rolled Pastries

The cake recipe is quick, easy and very simple to make, no molds are needed, just roll out the shortcrust pastry, add the jam filling and some small pieces of fruit (if desired), them roll up like a strudel.

Ingredients for the Shortcrust Pastry
• 1 whole egg
• 100 g powdered sugar
• 110 g butter
• 20 ml milk
• Vanilla (or vanillin)
• Grated zest of one orange
• 300 g flour
• 5 g baking powder (FOR THE FILLING)
marmalade (to taste)
• Fruits (to taste)

To make this sweet and delicious shortcrust pastry with filling, we start by preparing the shortcrust pastry base.
In a bowl, beat the whole egg with the sugar, vanilla and orange zest, add the softened butter and milk and mix it all together.
Add the flour and the baking powder and mix until a homogeneous shortcrust pastry is obtained.
Wrap the shortcrust pastry in cling film and let it rest in the refrigerator for about an hour to knead it better.
Once rested, divide the dough into 2 parts, roll the two parts into half-centimeter-thick rectangles and add the jam filling and some cut fuits.
Roll the filled rolls into strudel shapes, seal the edges well, place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and add sugar on top.
Bake the filled rolls in a static oven preheated to 180° for about 20 minutes.
Once baked and left to rest, cut the shortcrust pastry rolls into 3 cm thick slices to make cookies and sprinkle with powdered sugar if you prefer.
